Service Group Analysis
Preparation for the changeover of your supply contract
Assignment of your cases by an InEK-certified Service-Group-Grouper
Functions of the Service Group Analysis
According to the KHVVG, from 2025 all hospital cases are to be assigned to one of the 65 service groups. The Institute for the Hospital Remuneration System has developed a service group grouper for this purpose.
The service group analysis shows you
- your case numbers, days of stay and case mix
- your level of compliance with the minimum criteria
- your aG-DRG revenue + transfer to provision and rDRG
per service group. If desired, a comparison with the previous allocation logic according to the NRW model can be displayed. An export to Excel shows you the information per case or, if desired, grouped and summed.
1. Assigning cases
The uploaded §21er data sets are assigned to the future service groups according to the official grouping logic of the Service-Group-Gropuper. The grouping is carried out directly during the upload of your §21er data sets, so that an analysis takes place in a matter of seconds. The InEK-certified Service-Group-Grouper sorts the cases according to the allocation criteria described in the definition manual for each case. More information can be found on the InEK homepage under Service Group FAQ.
2. Criteria and Revenues
In a further step, the identified performance groups are subjected to a test for the fulfillment of the minimum criteria and displayed accordingly with a colored icon. This test is based on the quality reports. An adjustment to the current conditions can be created and saved in the Service Group Editor and inserted into the performance group analysis. The output of the amount of compensation according to rDRG and provision (without nursing care) rounds off the information content of the performance group analysis!
3. Export to Excel
To enable a smooth return to your KISS system, a raw data export is available that provides you with the determined grouper results by entering the Hospital internal code and the patient number (one case per line).
Optionally, a grouped and summarised export can also be generated. If you would like to make a comparison with your analysis according to the previous NRW model, the calculation basis can be conveniently left unchanged or used for comparison.
After uploading your §21 data, the reimbursement.INFO database sorts your case data into the corresponding Service Groups within a few minutes.
Use the Service Group Editor to adjust the status of the conditions (NRW quality criteria) individually for each hospital. This is basically possible for all hospitals in Germany.
View the Service Groups with the respective fulfillment status of the NRW quality criteria per hospital on an intuitive map of Germany (Service Group geo analysis).
